I won't claim you: aftermath of the Woolwich scandal

I'm just wondering what side to choose in this Woolwich scandal. The British  saying Nigerians are terrorists and claiming Muslims are bad news ? Or the Nigerians and Muslims saying the offender is neither Nigerian nor Muslim ? To be honest with you, I'm just here wondering when we human beings will realize that we are our own greatest enemies.  Quite frankly I'm not choosing any side here because both sides are wrong and ignorant beyond common knowledge. Let me tell you that I'm not defending the offender. God forbid I do. He is at the greatest fault. I'm just here to break down to you all when a line has to be drawn between justice and justification. These are two different things. I believe many are not aware of this. As of right now, I write with great disappointment in both societies: the British for being ignorant and the Nigerian for being pretentious.

As I believe the majority of us came into this world trough our mothers' wombs, we were all born with the freedom of choosing our theological beliefs. Be it Christianity, Islam or any other form of religion. Some of us even enjoy the luxury of being atheists. Therefore not believing in any supreme being. Some worship their deceased parents and ancestors. Some others worship trees. But why do we believe ? We believe in the things religions feeds us because we have no other choice but to. All the average human being wants, is finding his unique purpose in this  immensely and infinitely  great universe. And whether you accept my previous statement or not, this is every human being's greatest weakness. Now guess what ? This weakness is being take advantage of in the most inhuman way thinkable. I'm hereby referring to manipulation. Oh yes. We are all being manipulated and brain washed. Some of us are being manipulated by our governments. We are told that the government is meant to protect fits people. But what do you see in today's world ? People are being killed by their governments and corrupt leaders all in the name of insatiable greed. Some of us are being manipulated by religious leaders. Children submitting themselves to God, in other to serve him in all truth and spirit, are being raped and abused on a daily basis. Religious communities segregating themselves from the outside world and committing the things that same bible we all read, forbids them to. And when questioned, it's as if they own the law. That same Jesus you worship is presently crying and bewailing the situation of the Church. Are Christians better than Muslims ? No. Remember, Jesus himself sat and dined with the heathen. Jesus taught us the art of tolerance.

Judge not, that ye be not judged.

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. " - Matthew 7:1-5 ( kjv)

But we humans want to feel like Superman in our way and confidently say Muslims are terrorists. Let him without blemish cast his first stone ! You commit fornication, but say Muslims are terrorists ?   You steal, but it's ok for you to  say Muslims are terrorist ? You exploit poor countries, but you say Muslims are terrorists ? You terrorized Africa with your greedy colonization, but you say Muslims  are terrorists ? Did you seek any black man's approval before making him your slave yet you call him terrorist? You wage war for what is not yours but you say Muslims are terrorists ? And then you come to us with speeches of peace that doesn't exist, but you say Muslims are terrorists ? How conniving do you get ?  Now tell me, how much better are you than those extremists who soil the name of Islam ? Like Isaac Newton's law, this is a case of action and reaction. Let me say here and now that I am a Christian myself. I now understand what God meant when He said:

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children." Hosea 4:6 (kjv)

Shame on you for compromising the word of God or Allah and using it to your advantage thereby causing innocent beings to fall along with you. The name of Christianity and Islam suffer great shame for what they do not preach. It's all about manipulation: twists the words and justify evil with them. That is what the Media is known for. The Media cuts and molds the truth to a lie that stirs up anger, protests and grief. This is often time the case. We are feds with lies and live by lies. So what then is true ? Who then is right ? The ignorant ones are those who follow norms, regulations and traditions without using a mind of criticism. You weren't blessed with a brain to think for nothing. Someone being  a leader doesn't make him infallible. We are all prone to mistakes and therefore also prone to do evil. That has been our fate since the day Eve deceived Adam into eating the forbidden fruit. Accept this fact: no man is good and no nation is good either.

Following this screen munch, I won't call myself a Nigerian, because my never been or going to Africa as made me a  black woman who doesn't know her roots. This despite the fact that both my parents are "true" Nigerians. As our African proverbs will have it, a lion and lioness gave birth to goat. Thank you. I'm not Nigerian according to you, but I will not fold my hands and watch my talents die. This is the biggest problem I have always had with Nigerians: they never accept the truth. The offender in this case is of Nigerian descent and if I'm not mistaking, he is Yoruba. But because Nigerians fear the wrath of the world, the offender was disowned by the Nigerian community. Well done. After all who wants to be the brother/sister of a murderer ? Agreed. But...fasten your seat belts.  A set of Nigerians in Nigeria kill and behead their very own for the sake cultism. Aren't they  Nigerian ? The members of the Boko Haram terrorist group in Nigeria, aren't they Nigerian ? The man who killed  his mother and kept her in his closet for 10 good years since 2003, isn't he Nigerian ? The delusional girls and women in Nigeria who bath each other in acid for the sake of an irrelevant man, aren't they Nigerian ? The Nigerians abroad ( bred in Nigeria) who have nothing better to do than push drugs and commit fraud, aren't they Nigerian ? The politicians  in Nigeria  who steal state funds, aren't they Nigerian ? The greedy government and its corrupt House of Representatives, aren't they Nigerian ? And then you have these confused patriots who claim Nigeria is the best country in the world, foolishness claps its claws at you. Nigeria is the best country in Africa, you say ? This I say with confidence: Nigeria deserves every name it is given because its people are cowards. The truth is bitter but must be accepted with all consequences thereof.  Nigeria is too busy looking good for the world that it seems to forget the majority of the population is in tears. Like Jesus said, washing the outside of the cup and leaving the inside dirty only means one thing: the cup itself is still dirty. Those who have it well in Nigeria will want to oppose me on this matter. I will consider the opposition as void because their small group doesn't form Nigeria and neither does the Nigerian entertainment industry.

I'm not saying all Nigerians are the same. My point is: our chickening out of bad situations is costing us our reputation. Denying the offender is Nigerian will just make Nigeria look worse than it already is. At this point the devil has forsaken his task in our society. He is watching while we torment ourselves with ignorance.

Generalization is a curse but an eye opener. Not all Muslims are extremists. Not all Nigerians are terrorists or criminals. The offender has been rightfully condemned by the Muslim and Nigerian community. The balance between good and evil is what makes the world go round. But then again what is good in this world ?

I don't say any of this with ease. It's not because I hold a non-Nigerian passport, that any of this is easy to say. I hereby carry my "non-Nigerian" self and  stand for what I believe is true than support any party in utter blindness.

With this I do sincerely hope and pray that justice will be served with all precaution and  necessary procedures and also that the innocent will be justified and have their names cleared of all false allegations and stereotypes.

Yours sincerely,

- The Alpha Female.
