Dream killers versus Reality Speakers

Let's say you woke up one day, and you dreamt about that one million dollar idea. You ,being your excited self, decide to share it with your best friend. He/she tells you the idea is useless/stupid and won't amount to anything. You know deep down that it's a good idea. You have thought about it, prayed about it, analyzed it...The concept is good.Yet the best friend thinks it isn't a good idea. How do you feel at that point ? Do you say to yourself  "Whatever! I'll still go ahead with it" ? Or are you the " naah, they are probably right" kind of person ? Achieving your goals and fulfilling your dreams can attract people as obstacles or fuel to your thirst for a better future. Dream killers are everywhere...In your friend zone, family, acquaintances....They are everywhere ! And then again, not everyone who counteracts your idea is a dream killer. This other set of people are the reality speakers.

Dream killers are people who are never supportive of your ambitions. In most cases, this may be because your goals do not correspond with their value, level. Dream killers aren't necessarily people who are your "arch" enemies. As a matter of fact, dream killers are often people you love...Friends, family, acquaintances, collegues, etc...Their most common and powerful weapon is their tongue. Whatever they tell you can possibly discourage you. Handling them depends on the kind of person you are. If you are an emotional person, the best you can do is be yourself. Turn deaf to negativity. Then again there is a thin line between constructive criticism and pure dream killing. It's up to you as an individual to check yourself when you are being told to back down or correct yourself. Remember, it is not good to spare the rod and spoil the child. The question you ought to ask yourself is "Why is he saying this to me?". Once you can answer that question, you would know what to do. Be honest with yourself and never be scared to dream !

Reality speakers are people who point out the reality of things. They are honest. Some may seem harsh, but they often say the truth in order to protect you from being hurt or disappointed. The key thing to handling them is to be always true  to yourself. Only you know what kind of person you are. Your fears and capabilities  are best known to you only.

Never be afraid to dream and set goals for yourself. If you don't try, how would you know if success is yours ?
